Mine broke at the adapter as well after a few more car washes. I just purchased and installed the smallest one I think it's the 6" as it should transfer less leverage during washes and hopefully won't break

Ok mine snapped off as well at the adapter treaded piece.

I have this item - opened the box picked up the bag by the header card and the antenna dropped out the bottom on to the ground and scratched the finish. I installed it it looks great functions normally and has gone thru two car washes so far and hasn't broken as one reviewer noted

Received this as a Christmas gift. Selected the correct adapter and installed on my FJ. My first trip today (12-31-11) through the car wash, and the adapter snapped in half. Now I have no antena and have to figure out a way on how to get the other snapped half out of my vehicle or buy a radio antenna cable.
